So what's this site all about anyway? The best way to describe this site would be to call it a 'digital hub'. Primarily, it is a place to house the online projects and multimedia work created in my studio. A place to keep in touch with friends, family and clients. Moreover, this site will serve as an outlet for my creative energy. A place for me to present and enhance my skills as a designer / programmer; as well as experiment with design and interactive media. To demonstrate what I can do, and provide a foundation for me to build upon and experiment with new ideas free from constraints. While providing hours of enjoyment for all audiences- the site itself, as well as the portfolio and projects sections will serve a promotional purpose as 'work samples' for prospective clients. As a freelance designer, it provides select areas for clients to login and access their files. A moiré (more-ray) is best described as a visual distortion. Generally undesirable, a moiré occurs when one grid overlaps another and aligns just right to create a strange wavy pattern, vibration or sense of movement. I choose moiré as the name of this site, because they crop up quite often in graphic design and I liked the word. In addition, I liked the relative obscurity of the word, coupled with the fact that moirés are around us everyday. In the example to the right, a moiré is created by rotating one grid over another stationary grid. Brad Benjamin is a freelance designer living in Long Beach, California.
